Do You Get Down and Dirty?
Okay, minds out of the gutter, ladies. When I say “down and dirty,” I mean mud runs and obstacle course events. Hehe. (Although that would be a good question for another poll…say in February…hmmm…) Anyways, back on track. Earlier this week, Kelly did a fab post about the popularity of mud runs and how they can be pretty darn dangerous. We got some awesome comments to the piece and discussion going on Twitter, so we thought we’d put the whole topic to an informal poll!
I’m in the “not yet” category. After doing this intense event, I think I can handle a mud pit and some barbed wire. And I sooo want to do The Color Run. What about you? Whether you’re a dirty birdie or a clean chickadee, please feel free to elaborate on your answer in the comments below! —Jenn

I’ve done two obstacle type 5K races, but never a mud run. It’s not something I’m particularly interested in, but I might consider a race where one of the obstacles was mud. Mud for a bit…okay, mud the entire way, maybe not.
I am fascinated by the shticks that are being developed for races now. You can’t just run, there has to be some sort of dirt/gunk/obstacle involved. It’s a novelty to me, and I wonder how long it will last. I’m still more interested in just getting out and running.
I did an obstacle 5k race (carrying a pineapple with a team, no less) and loved it, but I’m not particularly interested in a “mud run.” The race I did was about climbing, balancing, teamwork etc, which was great 🙂
I’ve done one, but after a friend of mine broke her ankle really badly during a Tough Mudder, I’m nervous about doing another …
Just did Warrior Dash last month and doing Tough Mudder in Oct. Steady state running has always bored me to tears and this was exactly what I’ve been looking for! I’m hooked. 🙂
I did Warrior Dash in April & it was a blast (not to easy & not to hard but definately muddy)! I plan on doing another one next year, they also raise money for such a great cause *St Jude Childrens Research Hospital* which holds a special place in my heart because my Son who is Twenty yrs old is a St. Jude Alumni! 🙂
I’ve never done a mud run, but they look fantastic!!! This is for sure going to be in my future!!!
