Have fun and raise funds for a good cause!

The following is a post sponsored by Rotary International. For our sponsored post policy, click here.

Do you love to cycle? Participate in triathlons or other endurance events? Want to get into biking or doing tris? Well, boy, oh, boy, do we have the Tweet chat for you!

Next Tuesday night, we’ll be hosting an hour-long interactive Twitter-rific event to promote the upcoming Courage Classic Bicycle Tour, a three-day, 173-mile fundraising ride  supporting the Rotary Endowment for the Intervention and Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect. This endowment helps ensure that the children in Tacoma, Wash.’s communities and their families will never be turned away from the help they might need in the case of sexual or physical abuse. The Courage Classic is providing the inspiration for our discussiontopic: training, preparing for and raising money for big endurance events!

Over the course of the hour, we’ll share and swap tips (’cause we know you have some!) on what to eat during a training ride or run, benefits of training solo or in a group, the best fundraising practices and—most importantly—why you LOVE to cycle and do tris! And if that wasn’t enough, we’ll also be giving away four $50 AMEX gift cards to those who participate in the discussion and use the special #CCRotary Twitter chat hashtag. Boom, baby!

The Courage Classic & Rotary Twitter Chat Deets

Date: Tuesday, July 31
Time: 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Eastern
Hashtag: #CCRotary
How to follow along: TweetGridTwitter Search or @FitBottomedGirl and @Rotary

This Twitter party is going to be jam-packed with awesome information, so don’t miss it! And if you’re in the Tacoma area, be sure to check out The Courage Classic Bicycle Tour. If you’re doing the race (lucky!), also make certain you stop by the Ice Cream Social on Saturday, August 6, at Lake Easton State Park on I-90. Sponsored by the Sunrise Rotary Club of Tacoma, the stand will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to reinvigorate riders as they roll along their way. Yum!

See you Tuesday night, everyone! Can’t wait to discuss all things cycling and tri training!—Jenn
