Maternity Workout Clothes That Get You Out the Door

For Two Fitness’ maternity workout clothes show off the bump while getting your sweat on.

I’ve fluctuated between a size 4 and a size 14 most of my life. Because of this, I have learned (among many other things) that it is always important to have workout clothes that fit and that you feel good in no matter what your current size. If you don’t have workout clothes that make you want to get out of the house and exercise, then that’s just another battle you’re fighting on the war against getting and staying active.

This cannot be any more true than in pregnancy. Since getting taken off bed rest at the end of my first trimester, I have been working out, but it was more of a chore as I raided my husband’s closet for big pants and big T-shirts to wear on my morning walks. So I was more than pleased to review some maternity fitness wear from For Two Fitness.

From the moment I slipped on the Ultimate Maternity Fitness Capri ($69), I knew it was a match made in heaven. I felt good—and sexy. The pants have just enough snugness to pull in all of your growing parts to give you that confidence to move without the wrong parts moving. Because I carry my baby weight all over, I like a maternity pant to come all the way up over my belly for a smooth look. But if you like, the top of the pant can also be rolled down like a yoga pant.

The Training for Two Raceback Tank ($47) was great, too. It went on easily, fit snugly and showcased my belly but still has room to grow with me over the next few months due to the crafty side ruching. I especially love the “Training for Two” logo. As I get bigger, my insecurities make me want to remind the world that I’m growing a baby, and this shirt says that in a tasteful way. I wore the shirt to a mommy fitness class and all of the ladies loved the saying. It’s also a great motivator when you’re not feeling a workout; it reminds you that this time is not just for you but for the baby, too! On the flip side, when you’re clumsy in class or getting short of breath on your daily walk, you can remember that you are not weak, your little baby is just telling you to slow down for a minute.

The clothes wash great, too. As this is my second pregnancy, they’ve been broken in with grimy toddler hand prints and sidewalk chalk, both of which washed right out. I absolutely love wearing these clothes on my morning walks with my son. Now when the toddler alarm goes off, I can’t wait to get up and put on my sleek pants and adorable top and get outside!

Do you have any pregnancy workout clothes that get you excited to get going in the morning? —Dara
