4 New York Fitness Classes Worth Checking Out
3. Kangoo Boot Camp at New York Health & Racquet Club. OMG! After reading about instructor Mario Godiva in The New York Times, I knew I had to try out the Kangoo workout for myself. Kangoo shoes are a specially shaped boot that offers maximum bounce and rebounding with minimum impact on your joints. You can literally run, bounce and dance in these shoes while getting a kick-ass workout. They may look a little odd at first glance but, whoa, Nelly! Do they make you move!
What to expect: Bring your heart rate monitor and be ready to get a good sweat going! Mario’s Kangoo classes are 45 minutes of non-stop rebounding and movement. The time will fly by as you torch the calories.
What you’ll need: New York Health & Racquet Club provides the Kangoo boots, but I would be sure to wear either longer than knee-length tights or high knee-socks as you do not want the top of the boot to rub against your leg.
