  1. Hello, I hope someone in FBG land can comment on my question. CrossFit sounds a lot like Tabata which sounds like HIIT–am I right to see a common thread running through these? I think the concept is the same for all of them. Also, are these workout strategies/programs considered ‘functional fitness’, or is functional fitness something else again? Thank you!

  2. You bet, Vicki! CrossFit is a mix of a lot of things (plyometric training, gymnastics, Olympic lifting, to name a few), but is definitely HIIT the majority of the time and also does include some Tabata workouts. CrossFit workouts are always changing, so you might do Tabata one day, and then something entirely different the next. And it’s all very functional. That help?
