I’m Headed to Austin for a Paleo-Foodie Adventure!

plane-taking-off
In just a couple of hours, I will be taking off for a true foodie adventure. To a city of delicious food, music and culture. To a gathering of a bunch of cavemen and cavewomen. To a conference filled with everything from cooking demonstrations to informational sessions to primal workouts. Yes, I’m going to PaleoFX 2013 in Austin, Texas! And I couldn’t be more pumped.
This is pretty much the definition of a foodie adventure, and I’m so happy that my friend Sheryl invited me to come along. She has a friend in Austin for us to stay with, and I contacted the nice PaleoFX folks for a media pass. I’m hoping to get some one-on-one interviews with Robb Wolf, Sarah Fragoso, Michelle Tam and other Paleo peeps (Is that not the best use of alliteration ever? That double P just made me giggle.), but even just going to this amazing schedule will be awesome. And, this will be my first time experiencing Austin! Finally!
I’ve written about my transition to an about 80 to 90 percent Paleo way of eating over on Fit Bottomed Girls before (read about my journey here and here—and check out this killer Paleo dessert recipe!), but it’s truly something that I’ve evolved into following and loving. When I work out and eat in a more primal way (sans grains, dairy and legumes), I feel dang good. And, yeah, I like feeling good! So it’s working for me, and I’m excited to learn more and get more awesome ideas on how to make the most of it—and feel even better—at this conference.
PaleoFX 2103 goes from tomorrow through Saturday, and you best believe that I’ll be Tweeting, Facebooking and Instagramming about all of my Paleo foodie adventures. So be sure that you’re following us—and stay tuned in the weeks following the conference as I’m sure I’ll have plenty of recipes, tricks, tips and info to share of all of the good stuff I learned.
Anyone else going to PaleoFX 2013? Anyone go last year? Anything specific you’d like me to find out or ask? Let’s do this! —Jenn
