2. Muscle Ropes. I tried a workout called “Combat Ropes” last summer, and it was a heck of a good workout. Just a couple of minutes moving, slamming and whipping these ropes, and your heart rate goes sky high, while your arms and legs burn like a mo-fo. A good mo-fo. And while having your own big rope at home is clearly a bit of an indulgence (and something you’d probably have to do either in a large basement, garage or outdoors), it’s one way to spice up your workout. And we’re particular fans of Muscle Ropes’ Lightening 50 ($110). Ideal for a high-intensity, high-rep workout, it can even be doubled up to make for an even more challenging workout experience.
