A Brooks Running Run Happy Summer Outfit

Man, oh man, the cute workout clothes will just not stop this summer! We have been smitten with this new adidas line, and this new Brooks Running stuff (disclosure: we’re a blog ambassador, but this review is totally 100 percent our opinion!) is sooo fun and perfect for a summer jog. Perfect!

I used to have this pair of dark purple Champion shorts that I loved. I wore them all the time and all summer long—that was until I sat in sap during this backpacking trip and never quite got the sticky out of the seat. (There’s an immature joke there, but I’ll let you make it.) Since then, I’ve been looking for a pair that fulfilled the same needs as my old pair: comfy, a little flowy, quiet (no swish-swoosh when you walk or run) with a low waistline. And, at long last, I have found a replacement: the Brooks Running Women’s Glycerin Short ($40)!

The stretch-woven shell has a light-stretch waist, lower-waist fit and gives your legs lots of room to move, while still having a flattering semi-fitted look. With a feathered thick waistband and side panel, it has some fun detail to it as well. There’s even an envelope-style back pocket (no zipper, so no chafing for ab work!) and it has a soft inner liner in case you like to go commando—a feature my previous shorts lacked. So, yep, I’m happy to report that I have found a new pair of perfect shorts. And they even come in purple!

It’s no secret that we love a good racerback tank, so the Women’s EX T II Bold Run Happy tank ($32) already caught our eye from the get-go. But what we really like about it is that it’s moisture-wicking while still feeling soft, is made of odor-resistant fabric, has a little bit of stretch to it and is semi-fitted with a curved side seam for a flattering yet feel-good fit. And don’t even get us started on the fun “Run Happy” design. We love how it’s kind of abstract—makes it more fun.

While this tank works for any type of exercise you’re doing (minus yoga, where your tank would ride up in down dog), it’s particularly awesome for running and boot camps. With flatlock seams that prevent chafing and the racerback cut that allow your arms to move freely, it just feels good in the summer heat.

So, yep, Brooks Running does it again. Another running outfit that we’re not sure how we lived without before! What’s your favorite Brooks Running piece? —Jenn
