noshies-2013
Guys, we are super excited to be hosting the 2013 Noshies here on Eats this year for FBG’s Five-Year Birthday Week. Honoring only the best of the best foods, drinks and culinary-related books, gizmos and gadgets, it’s like the Oscars for healthy food. (If you’ve missed years past, check out all of the previous Noshies winners here.) And we’re the hostess with the mostess! So pull up a chair, get out your hungry eyeballs and let’s see who the Noshies go to this year…!

Sing it with us now, chi-, chi-, chia!

2013 Noshies: Drinks

Best use of chia in a drink: Mamma Chia. Sweet, but not too sweet, this drink might be our favorite way to enjoy chia—ever. And that’s saying a lot.
Best commercial smoothie: Tropical Harvest, Jamba Juice. With butternut squash, carrot, sweet potato, peaches and mango in it, this drink is HEAVENLY. Sweet but not too sweet, and you can taste some of the veggies in it (in a good way). Just be sure to add protein to your order.
Best coconut water: Taste Nirvana. This was the product that got many of us liking coconut water, and it’s like a whole new world now!
Best sippable dessert: 5 Sparrows Sugar-Free Monumental Spiced Chai. Monumental is right. This spiced chai mix is sweet, spicy and creamy with a light tea flavor. Make it with coconut milk, and it’ll make your eyes roll back in happiness.
Best coffee that’s not coffee: Choffy. All roasted, browned and ground, you brew this 100 percent cacao just like you would coffee. And holy antioxidants! An 8-ounce cup of the stuff has more antioxidants than two servings of blueberries. It may not be coffee, but it sure is delicious!
