Tips to Get in Shape for The Amazing Race—or Anything!
1. Clean up your diet. Cut out all red meat, non-natural sugary foods and processed foods (anything with a bar code on a box for easy reference).
2. Eat greens at nearly every meal (kale, spinach, lettuce, etc.). The greener the better!
3. Do diversified workouts every day (weights, cardio, or outdoor activity—hike, run, swim, surf, Pilates, Yoga, CrossFit). Intermixing workouts is one of the best ways to get in shape quickly. You MUST keep your body guessing.
4. Incorporate HIIT into your workout. Do HIIT workouts instead of steady/low-to-moderate cardio four to five times week (no more than 15 minutes is necessary). This will give your body the push it needs, without tiring you out.
5. Do as much as you can with a partner. Abbie and I shared identical goals. It made staying motivated and challenged a lot easier for us, and it was more fun having someone to experience the transformation with.
