Best Exercises to Do at Home
1. Circuit train without weights. You can do this in your garage or backyard: Perform each exercise nonstop for 1 minute, rest 15 seconds in between. After each round (all four movements; rest 1 minute; then start over), do five to 10 times of this circuit: push-up, pull-up, air squat, jump rope.
2. Use a foam roller to take care of your body. You’re working it extremely hard, so give yourself some TLC when you’re done. Do 10 to 15 minutes while watching TV—or repeats of The Amazing Race Season 21.
3. Hit your core hard. Using a yoga mat you can do abs, obliques and lower back, all in under 10 minutes. It’s the foundation of your entire body, so treat it well by keeping it strong.
4. Stretch and do yoga a few times a week. This will help your muscles from getting too tense and will increase your circulation so that you can get the most out of your workouts.
5. Consider investing in your home gym. If you have the budget and floor space, there are some decent all-in-one machines that allow you to hit almost every major muscle group.
