PowerSox Review: Workout Socks Get Fun, So Fun

Socks are one of those workout items that aren’t that exciting. A staple that you have to have (unless you go lizard toes!), they’re usually just functional. Something that doesn’t get you jazzed and ready to run in the morning. I mean, socks are socks. Put them on, lace up your shoes and go. Not much thought to the ol’ pair of socks.

But, wait. What’s that? Oh, these socks are not to just quietly go unnoticed…JUST LOOK AT THEM!

Boring workout socks begone! These new Powerlites come in six fun hues to bring a little pop of color to your feet. Light, comfy and made of material that wicks sweat away, these are basic workout socks that just work. There’s nothing overly fancy about them, just solid design and bold colors that are super fun to match (or not, go crazy!) to your outfit. At about $13 for a multi-color six-pack, these rock.

For those looking for a slightly heavier sock that still stays dry, say hello to the PowerSox Advanced Dry Socks. More for your long-distance runner or serious exerciser, these have a bit more technology to them. With just a little bit of color, they have some arch support, a thicker and softer feel, and lots of moisture-wicking properties. If the Powerlites are your everyday basic workout socks, these are your nicer, let’s-get-fancy pair. They’ll run ya about $11 for a two-pack.

And last but not least, we also tried the Perfect Allsport Performance. These come in a TON of colors and are great for CrossFit, running, recovery—or just looking like a brightly colored bad-ass. Lightweight but with arch support, these aren’t as cushy as the Advanced Dry Socks or as soft as the Powerlites. They remind us of a soccer sock with better moisture-wicking and better grip in the footbed. For $10 for a two-pack, we dig them. In all the colors!

A big thanks to PowerSox for letting us try these new socks! Tell us: What do you look for in a workout sock? Love the fun bright ones, too? —Jenn

How do the Powerlites hold up in the toes? I have a problem in that I keep running through my socks but… I hate thick socks.Bad combo.

Abigail–They’ve made it through fine for the last couple of months with regular wearing, but you’d probably be better off in something more reinforced like the Perfect Allsport Performance. Hopefully they’ll make those in neon colors soon. 🙂
