Puma’s BioWeb Sneaker: If They’re Good Enough for Ryan Reynolds, They’re Good Enough for Us…

Fit men have a tendency to make us swoon. And while we do talk a lot about Bob (love him!), we also have a soft spot in our hearts for Ryan Reynolds. Or, maybe more like a “how-you-doin’?” spot for him. I mean, just look at him. Holy cuteness.

And what’s that he’s lacing up for his run, you ask? Oh, those are the new Puma BioWeb Elite sneakers. And we got to try a pair! (And have a semi-legit reason to longingly stare at a photo of Mr. Reynolds—sweet.) Released this spring, they have this cool spiderweb-esque detail and an insole that helps with stability. With cool cut-outs in the sole to reduce weight, the shoes also have a special “Webcage,” which wraps around the foot for added support during workouts. While Ryan likes to jog in his, Puma says that these are good for everything from all-day wear to pretty much any activity. So hooray for cross-trainers! And our ladies’ version looks a lot like Ryan’s. Twinsies!

We’ve been wearing these during everything from dog walks to boot camp to weight-lifting and jogging, and they are a pretty nice shoe. They offer a lot of stability without a lot of weight and have a good reactive push-off. While I personally wish they had a touch lower heel drop (all of the minimalist shoes reviews might have finally converted me to a more “natural” shoe!), for someone looking for a cross-trainer that provides cushion and support without feeling heavy, these could be a good choice. And while the spiderweb effects and Webcage do have function, they also just look darn cool. For $100, they’re a great all-around workout shoe!

With that said, we just have one final question: Ryan, wanna go for a run together in our matching shoes? Hehe. —Jenn
