We Love These Sporty Swimsuits Made for You

Nayad’s suits are built for fitness!

I can’t tout the benefits of swimming as a workout enough. It’s great cardio work while not being hard on your joints, which is particularly great for pregnant women and the newly postpartum getting back into shape. It has a way of feeling relaxing while being strenuous—a tough feat for any workout.

But when you’re ready to get back in the pool, whether you’re sporting a baby bump or a post-baby bump, you want to feel confident in your swimsuit. And if you’re swimming laps, you want it to be sporty and secure and stay put. Well, we found the perfect swimsuit that fit that criteria: Nayad.

We’d come across Nayad before and loved that the suit is said to be “made for movement,” which is a plus right off the bat. But when we saw how customizable the suits were, we really fell in love. With different versions of an Aqua Sports Bra or the more full-coverage Aqua Fitness Top, you can get the upper-body coverage you crave—or bare your belly, it’s up to you. From there, you’ve got options of bikini bottoms, shorts or skirts. Not only can you mix and match the type of top and bottom, but you can customize the bands, style, fabric and color.

Nayad let us test out the customization on a suit ourselves, and I went with a standard sport-bra top and bikini bottoms in my go-to green shade. My favorite part? There isn’t a one-size-fits all approach; you actually choose your measurements to have it custom-made for your body. I’ve never had a swimsuit bottom fit me quite as perfectly as the Nayad suit does. The suit fits great all around—no straps digging into my shoulders, no wedgies.  The only complaint I have is that I like a tiny bit of padding in my suit for when it’s chilly getting out of the pool, but that’s a personal preference.

The suits are athletic enough to transition from sport to sport, too. So if you’re playing tennis in the morning and want to go swim laps in the pool, it’s got you covered for both. If you want to swim and then do some yoga, you don’t have to worry about flashing your lady parts to other beach-goers. And who doesn’t want workout gear that can multitask?

Do you like your swimsuit to transition from sport to sport? Do you like to mesh function and fashion when it comes to your swimwear? —Erin
