3. Do a victory dance. So you finished the race (congratulations!) and now you’re tired and want to stop. Terrible idea! The absolute best thing you can do post-race is keep moving. However, while many people advise walking after a race, it’s actually a better idea to do something completely different. Find some kind of movement that moves your legs in a different plane than the one they were in during the race. You can, of course, stick with lots of stretching and kicking your legs up and around, like you’ve seen the elites do, but the more fun Fit Bottomed approach is the all-out victory dance. Shake it to your favorite top 40 song and pretend you’re in Zumba class — going big with the moves. Get your legs moving in a way that they weren’t moving when you were running and it will work wonders.
