4 Hot New Group Exercise Classes to Try

new-york-city-workouts

I recently embarked on a fitness “stay-cation” in my hometown of New York City to try out a whole slew of classes and take a peek at the swankiest fitness studios. After sweating and lifting, jumping, banding and attempting poses all over this fine city, I am reporting back my personal favorites. (It was a total hoot, by the way— if you are ever looking for a fit companion to try out a Gotham-based class, let me know!)

I’ve gone to Physique and while I loved it.. it was too expensive. If you like cardio dance classes.. you’ve gotta try the vixen workout. The classes are at Pearl Studio (for now) and highly addictive. The price is cheap compared to Tracy, and Anna Kaiser.. and the burn is amazing!!! It was created by Janet Jones and is Miami based. The best nights are Tuesday – Thursday. We twerk, have a booty battle and fun choreography to the hottest songs. The latest routine to the new Britney song is CRAZY. Great idea for the fitness themed stay-vacation. I’d include some exotic spa or wellness-type treatments to try out, like infrared sauna rooms or salt inhalation therapy (halotherapy).

  3. Its always more fun while working out in groups as it keeps you motivated and makes it a fun routine.

Wow – they all sound great but they are also overpriced. While I realize the upper class are probably going to these places they are robbing them blind.

Well, I’m not in NYC but I don’t have to be to get my barre on with suzannebowenfitness.com
For a total bargain @ $9.99/ month you get access to streaming classes and can follow along in a group challenge or self-paced. The workouts are challenging but fun. shakeburnchange!

  7. I am not there but I always appreciate reading about different workouts! 🙂

Exercising in groups is great. It keeps you motivated to see how other people improve, as well as yourself. That Moksha Yoga place sounds really cool, I would love to check it out. Nice post, thanks for sharing.
