Want to Feel Good? Get Outside! Why Outdoor Workouts Are Sooo Good for You

With the leaves falling in gorgeous hues of red, yellow and orange (the above image is actually from my running trail!), now is the perfect time to ditch the gym for a few workouts, get outside and embrace good ol’ nature! Recently, there has been tons of research that has focused on the so-called “nature connection,” and how it affects our health, outlook and overall life. Turns out, getting out in Mother Nature is not only pleasing for the eyeballs, but it also has huge health benefits! (And when you’re out in nature and being active? Well, that’s just a double feel-good whammy!)

  1. Beautiful picture! Fall is such a great time to get outside. I love functional outdoor activities like walking your dog, biking to work or playing sports. Glad to hear more research is being done on this. Hopefully, more people will start getting a good dose of nature in their lives.

    I have really enjoyed the fall season this year. I think the neon fall colors on the trees have managed to stick around longer this year than in the past years. It is simply beautiful and in some places, breathtaking. It really encourages me to want to get out and go on a hike or biking trail, or anything outdoors related.

  5. Also I have this theory that being out in the cold burns more calories. Am sure there must be scientific proof of this somewhere…..
