It’s winter. Maybe not technically, but with the cold, it might as well be. I love certain things about winter — the holidays, beautiful snow — but it’s always been my least favorite season. I get cold. I don’t like the early darkness. I’d be pretty happy hibernating all winter. Not to mention that winter workouts are especially challenging.
It’s just not as easy to work out in the winter. Besides not being able to just comfortably get outside for a run or a stroll, push a stroller to the park with the kids or go swimming, kids add another element of challenge to the winter workout scenario. Because there are coats. And gloves. And hats that get lost. It’s just so much more difficult to get my act together in the winter for workouts. But letting your workout mojo slide isn’t an option. Because getting back into the groove after the holidays — particularly if you’re feeling sluggish with a few extra lbs around your waist — is so difficult, it’s so important to keep moving even when it’s tough to do so. Sure you may not be able to hit the park with the kids in 20-degree weather. And it might not be as appealing to hit the pool. But just keep moving.
