8 Simple Tips for Healthy Family Meals
1. Plan It
Take a day — Sunday works well — to plan your meals for the week. Come up with four or five meals for the week and write your grocery shopping list. For me, it’s best if I go with several “tried and true” meals; those I could make blindfolded, and one or two new recipes thrown in. I have bitten off more than I could chew too many times — “This week is ALL NEW RECIPE WEEK” — and it doesn’t work. Meal-planning day is also a good time to throw out old takeout containers or leftovers you put away but didn’t manage to finish. Clean it all out and prepare for the week to come.
