Get grocery shopping done on the weekend. Sure, it’s a little busier at the store, but it’s so nice to start Monday with a full pantry and fridge and no excuses. If you have backup on the weekends, like a husband off work or super-willing grandparents, take advantage of it! Grocery shopping is way easier sans kids. If you’ve got kids in tow, you’ll likely have tricks up your sleeve to make it as smooth sailing as possible, so pull out all the stops. For me, it’s the “car cart” — the cart at the grocery store that has a car at the front. The kids love “steering” through the store and they’re happy for half an hour. Just make sure they don’t distract you from your all-important list.
