Kashi Takes On Pizza — with International Flair!

Kashi rocks. Their cereals are healthy while also being super tasty. They have those cute commercials where their cereal shows up in egg cartons to demonstrate that their cereal has protein. And their pizza is unique and satisfying.

Record scratch.

Kashi pizza? That’s right. If you didn’t know it — which I didn’t! — Kashi now offers single-serve frozen pizzas. And not just any ordinary pizza either; the company got fancy with its two flavors of Greek Tzatziki and Indian Tikka Masala.

I know what you’re thinking. Microwavable frozen pizza. But these pizzas are unique and delish — and are actually quite healthy. Both versions are made with Kashi seven whole grains, flax and sesame. The Greek one features spinach, artichokes, tomatoes, feta, mozzarella and a Greek Tzatziki sauce (yogurt, cucumber, dill and garlic). With 9 grams of fiber, 17 grams of protein and 23 grams of whole grains per serving, it’s a yummy and filling choice in just 300 calories. The Indian version was topped with mozzarella, eggplant, spinach, tomatoes, crushed red pepper and a spicy sauce. Killer nutrition here, too, with 10 grams of fiber, 16 grams of protein and 23 grams of whole grain per serving at 300 calories.

The pizzas were tasty, too. While I definitely preferred the Greek Tzatziki (type that five times fast) because I’m a sucker for artichoke and feta, I dug that spice of the Indian version. Plus, I adore Indian food but had never thought about an Indian pizza, so it was a pleasant and fresh take on the ‘za. Filling, too — I tried these for lunch and topped off the meal with some fruit and I wasn’t hungry for hours.

My extensive Kashi research has informed me that the company offers even more pizzas, including a BBQ chicken and a Margherita, so if you’re not into the “global flair” Kashi offers, you’re covered. If you’re a new mom who can’t be bothered to think about what to make for lunch or a busy mom who has a hard time getting a healthy meal during the day, throw a few in your freezer for easy meals in a pinch!
