And when I came across this during the height of the games, I knew I’d have to share it with the other parents out there. In it, Mary Carillo shares her take on badminton — how backyard badminton differs from the badminton game of the Summer Olympics. “It has a tree-seeking device stuck in it somewhere.” It always seems to go that way no matter what you’re doing with kids, from things inevitably getting caught in trees to the tools to get said things out of trees getting caught in trees — to realizing you own a dozen basketballs and can’t park your car in the garage because of all the equipment.
