See Ya at the Runner’s World Half & Festival!

woman running raceAfter a summer of running in the Florida heat and humidity, I’m itching for a chance to stretch my legs in a cooler climate, and next month, I’ll do just that the weekend of October 18 at the Runner’s World Half & Festival Presented by Altra in Bethlehem, Penn. Who else will be there?

Aside from the temps, here’s what’s so cool about this event: Although the half marathon is featured, there are other distances offered as part of the festival. Shorter distances. Which, for those of us coming off of major races a couple of weeks beforehand, is fantastic news.

There’s a 5k, a 10k, as well as the option I’ve signed up for — the Five & Dime, meaning you run both the 5k and 10k. Or, if you’d like to make an even bigger running weekend out of it, you can do the Hat Trick, which is running the Five & Dime Saturday and the half marathon on Sunday.

Other weekend events include a race for kids and a doggie fun run, as well as numerous seminars and a pasta dinner with the Runner’s World editors. It’s designed to be a family-friendly weekend with live music, running movies, food and fun.

Sound like fun? Then I’ve got some great news for you: FBG has been given discount codes for our readers, so you can sign up for your race of choice and get 10 percent off! Sign up here and use the codes below for your discount.

I’m beyond thrilled that Runner’s World invited me to be a part of this event, and I hope I get a chance to say hello to some readers while I’m in the area. (I also hope I get a chance to wear a hoodie and walk outside without sweating!)

Will you be around? Shout it out in the comments! —Kristen
