Now the Big Question: What’s Next?

I’ve been talking about the Ironman 70.3 Augusta for so long, that, now that it’s over, it feels … weird. Kind of like Christmas — there’s a ton of hype, and the day itself is incredible, but once it’s done, it’s easy to feel down.

That being said? I don’t feel down. I loved my experience, and will probably do it again in a couple of years, but unlike so many of the people I raced with who immediately made plans to sign up for another, or a full Ironman, or a marathon (you guys are awesome!), I have no desire to jump straight back into the training required to complete a long course triathlon or running event. That’s a serious time commitment, and I’m kind of enjoying having a little spare time.

As I mentioned before, this weekend I’ll be in Pennsylania for the Runner’s World Half and Festival (and there are still discount codes in this post available for anyone who’d like to join me there!) where I’ll be doing the Five and Dime on Saturday. And, in a couple more weeks, I’ll be down in Clearwater, Fla. for the TriRock Olympic-distance triathlon (you might recall that race from previous years) to finish out the season.

But after that? I don’t have a damn thing on the calendar, and I’m okay with that.

I’ve been upping my yoga and Pilates game, trying some new (and harder! eek!) classes, and figure I’ll pick up a few more weights. I’ll keep swimming, biking and running a bit, but I’m going to keep my options open for a bit and see what feels right.

And, of course, I’m open to suggestions. What have you been doing lately that you’re loving? Any amazing new classes out there that I’ve just got to try? —Kristen
