Pregnant Prank: Doing Some Heavy Lifting

When I was pregnant, people went out of their way to accommodate me. When I took a CPR class at 35 weeks pregnant, the instructor was so worried about my girth that I had to be very persuasive so that he’d even let me do chest compressions on a mannequin. The UPS guy would always offer to bring packages into the house. And I had a man at the Home Depot give me a hard time for lifting mulch. Even when you’re fit and fully capable of doing things for yourself, once your belly gets a certain size, I think people are just afraid you will go into labor and they’ll be stuck helping you deliver a baby on the sidewalk. But at a point, they’re right and you probably shouldn’t be doing seriously heavy lifting. That’s why this video is so funny. In it, a husband needs to move large items — only he’s making the pregnant mom-to-be do it and not helping. People are very uncomfortable, as you’ll see.

I just want to give all of those guy helpers hugs, don’t  you?

Did you get lots of offers for help while you were pregnant? I always had to convince people I was okay with standing. No really, I don’t need a chair, but I will totally let you know when I do! —Erin
