There’s nothing like that first workout back after having a baby. You’re finally free to move — doctor approved! — and your body is able to bend at the waist again, which is always nice after half a year of being unable to see your feet. But that first postpartum workout always proves interesting. Because … well … your body is different and has been through some stuff. Here are just a few thoughts you might have during that first postpartum workout!

19 Thoughts Moms Have During Their First Postpartum Workout

  1. Yes! My first workout. This is going to be great!
  2. Oh yeah, I’m moving.
  3. Is that the baby crying?
  4. I’ll just check really quick.
  5. Ok, yay! Still sleeping.
  6. Back to it!
  7. Man, that feels different.
  8. That feels way harder than I remember.
  9. I’m still just warming up!?
  10. Awesome, a 2-second plank.
  11. Good thing I’ve got a supportive sports bra.
  12. I might need to double up next time.
  13. If I leak breast milk, it could be mistaken for sweat, right?
  14. My abs have seriously turned into jelly.
  15. If I pee myself, it could still be mistaken for sweat, right?
  16. Because, jumping, whoa.
  17. Wow, working out is so much easier compared to this.
  18. This feels good. I’m going to do this every day.
  19. OMG. My legs are shaking. I’m going to need at least a few days to recover.
