That Cough Whooped!

nightout-585zMy husband and I rarely use babysitters. We’ll go out on our own when we have family visiting, but wrangling three kids as small as ours is a challenge even for us, so we hesitate to enlist others very often. But we recently celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary, and while we plan to go into NYC to do something special around Thanksgiving, I didn’t want our special day to go uncelebrated. I enlisted the services of my 12-year-old neighbor and her mom to come over so I could surprise him with a dinner out. Because they’re such wonderful people, I didn’t hesitate for a moment — and I knew we were only a few minutes away and we both had cell phones should they need us. But after a couple of hours at dinner, I started getting antsy and Alan knew it was time for me to get back to my babies. (I don’t know if it’s breastfeeding or what, but man, I get antsy any time I’m away from my youngest for very long!)

So while I don’t go overboard with directions for kiddo care when I know I’ve got an experienced mom watching my kids, I think this video is hilarious.

Do you have a binder of instructions for sitters or are you pretty laid back as long as you can be reached on your cell phone?Erin
