Like I said over on Fit Bottomed Mamas, I love this time of year because I get excited about the new year, resolutions, a clean slate and new calendars. But one of my favorite things is also reflecting back on the year. Each year makes us older, but hopefully also a little bit wiser. Here are just a few of the lessons the Fit Bottomed Girls team has learned this year.

15 Fit Bottomed Lessons Learned in 2015

1. We’ve always said that the scale shouldn’t make or break our happiness, but this year we got even more confirmation that we should focus on how we feel and how strong we are rather than a number on some hunk of metal. Muscles, not weight!

2. The best workouts are the ones when you count smiles rather than miles.

3. Fear shouldn’t keep you from doing something! What’s the worst that can happen?

4. Running should be fun. And running with Kevin Hart definitely is.

5. Don’t whine about something if you’re not trying to change it!

6. Sometimes you just have to put on a jumper and OWN IT.

7. No one needs to be perfect.

8. Calorie counting ain’t our bag, baby. But we will say that on occasion, it’s not the worst thing to tally something up if it points you in a healthier direction.

9. Rock the Spandex.

10. Don’t limit yourself. Push it, girl.

11. Sometimes a cute red bike is all you need to get a little more active.

12. Kettlebells might have seemed trendy when they came on the scene years ago. But man, they’re legit.

13. Music can change your workout in unexpected ways.

14. Take up space and own it.

15. Staying fit is a personal thing, but a village certainly helps.

We can’t wait to see what the new year brings. Are you ready to work your jumpers and Spandex and own 2016?Erin
