5 Winter Beauty Trends to Try

KatieKitchensHeadshot1It may be winter, and the weather might be a bit dreary, but that doesn’t mean your post-gym routine has to be! In fact, some of the hottest winter beauty trends right now are downright rosy — and can help you to turn that winter frown upside down. So read on for all the new and hot winter beauty trends as forecasted by Katie Ann Rosen Kitchens, co-founder and editor-in-chief of FabFitFun.

“At FabFitFun, we pride ourselves on forecasting the latest trends for the upcoming seasons … before we even get there!” she says. “As the largest full-sized subscription box company in the world, we curate the best of the best beauty, fashion, fitness and wellness, and home décor must-haves for a surprise delivery to our subscribers each season. Here are some of the trends in beauty I’ve noticed making waves this winter!”

Try ’em — we think they’ll make you look as smokin’ hot as that workout makes you feel!

1. Body “Oil” for All-Over Moisturizing

As winter rolls on and harsh wind takes a toll on exposed skin, we tend to feel very dry and itchy. A thick moisturizer for face and hands is key during this season, Rosen Kitchens says. However, thick moisture is needed on more than just the skin that tends to be exposed when braving the outdoor elements.

“That’s why body oils and butters are such a trend this season. Candlenut oil, in particular, is on the rise due to its unique hydrating properties. I am a huge fan of Juara Candlenut Body Creme, available in the FabFitFun Winter Box this season!”

2. A “Rose-y” Pout

Rose Quartz is one of 2016’s Pantone colors, so it’s no surprise that rose-colored lipsticks, liners and tinted glosses will be in full effect this winter.

“A subtle and simple pop of color like rose is perfect for a day at the office, brunch with friends, or even a night out on the town. If you’re not exactly keen on incorporating color into your lip palette yet, rose is a great place to start!”

3. Graphic Eyeliner

There were a lot of intricate eyeliner designs on the runway last fall and although they were interesting, they may not necessarily translate in the real world. However, there is a way to take these cool designs and tone them down for a dramatic, yet sophisticated look that will make your eyes really pop, she says.

“Apply a slate gray eyeliner in a heavy, thick line along the upper lash line and connect it to the lower line under the eye for a defined look. Use a slate gray color if black liner seems too harsh.”

4. Classic Red Nails

Red nails will be a staple this season. Classic tones for nails have always been a way to incorporate a pop of color into your look and complete your ensemble.

“Our FabFitFun Winter Box features Zoya Nail Polish in classic red, a must-have beauty item curated by our newly appointed beauty advisor, makeup artist and all-around fabulous beauty guru, Joey Maalouf!

5. Flushed Cheeks

And we really love her for this winter beauty trend!

“Let’s face it … our summer tans are LONG gone and our skin is probably at its fairest by this time of year. There’s no need to fight the pale hue! A soft dusting of light pink blush on the apples of your cheeks can go a long way in helping you play up your slightly lighter skin for a natural ‘wind-bitten’ look.”

And our favorite beauty trend of all that’s not on this list? Being healthy! Hey, that never goes out of style. Thanks for the fab tips, Katie Ann!Jenn
