Full Fitness Fusion (and a Giveaway!)

fitnessfusion-585

My official motto of the new year has been, simply put, “move more.” I’ve got progress I want to make, strengthening I need to do and all the time in the world to do it. That last part is totally not true, which is why I loved the workout DVD I just tried: Full Fitness Fusion: The 30 Minute Solution. Ivy Ingram Larson packs a punch — sometimes literally — in this body sculpting routine that’ll work you from head to toe.

What I loved about the routine is that it combines hints of Pilates with truly functional strength moves that will help you strengthen the areas you need to most, namely the core. Getting your midsection stronger is great for more than just looking fab; most importantly, it’ll help you out in all areas of your life like bending over to pick up toys all day and carrying loads of laundry around the house. In the DVD, Ivy moves you from one move to the next quickly so there is no downtime and your heart rate gets elevated.

Many of the moves are multitaskers, too, so you’ll be doing upper- and lower-body work simultaneously. You need dumbbells and a kettlebell, but if you don’t have a kettlebell there are modifications and you can still get an effective workout. The cool down is nice, too — yoga stretches and warrior poses along with back twists that give kiddos a chance to crawl all over you.
