Keep Your Knife Skills Sharp

knife-skillsIf you’ve ever embarked upon a recipe that involved a significant amount of chopping in the prep, you know that having the right knives — and the right knife skills — can cut your prep time by more than half.
With a little research (and maybe a little bit of cash saved up), anyone can pick up a good knife, but do you know where to turn when you want to use that awesome cutlery? We found a pretty amazing resource in Calphalon’s Knife Skills site, and we think you might dig it, too.

Want to know the best way to cut up some kale? They’ve got a short, simple, easy to follow video to show you just what to do. Looking to prep some fresh shrimp? You’re covered. You can scroll through the site to view all the different foods they offer knife skills for, or you can sort by fruits, vegetables, proteins or holiday to find just the video you need. There’s everything from the right way to chop a rutabaga to slicing up your rack of lamb, and each video is only a minute or two long so you’re not stuck watching a big, long tutorial.

What’s one food you’ve always struggled to properly chop? Or, is there a food that you know how to cut and feel like a badass every time you do it? The day I learned how to dice an onion was kind of life-changing! Kristen
