Wanna unplug for a few hours (or days!) but not sure where to start? Or want to to break your cell-phone-checking social-media-updating obsession without totally losing touch with your friends on Facebook?

Erin shared 11 tried-and-true tricks to unplug over on Fit Bottomed Girls, and I love this post for a number of reasons.

1. The unplug tips are SO realistic. If the thought of ditching all technology freaks you out, these are little baby steps towards unplugging.

2. They can create a habit of unplugging. Simply not grabbing your phone as the first step of your morning is an easy way to wake up unplugged. And putting it down at meals? Again, an easy thing you can begin to do on the reg — and before you know it, you can unplug without even thinking about it!

3. They save your cell phone battery. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve drained my cell phone battery by doing, really, absolutely nothing productive on it. Follow her tricks and you’ll find yourself with that low-battery warning less often. (Which is totally a win in my book! It sucks to be stuck to a charger.)

Do you notice your stress levels drop when you unplug? Doing it for just an hour a day really does seem to help me mentally. Jenn
