3 Chocolate Easter Treats (That Aren’t Bunnies)

Easter basket isolated on a white background

I have always had issues with chocolate bunnies. And animal crackers. And, well, any food shaped like an animal, because it just feels cruel to decide which part I’m going to nibble on first, you know? (Shocking that I don’t eat meat, I know.) In elementary school, my friends would bring their mutilated chocolate bunnies out of their lunchboxes the Monday after Easter and I would honestly just have to look away. (Jelly beans, however, I have never had a problem with. Yum!)
These days, however, those of us here at Eats don’t just skip the cheap, flavorless chocolate Easter bunnies of yore — we like our Easter baskets to be filled with treats that we can feel really good about. Like the ones below that Jenn and I are both hoping to get a chance to snack on this Sunday!
Confession: Sometimes I (Jenn) forget to take my daily probiotic. I try, I try! I swear. Because I know how good probiotics are for like, everything. But my pills are in the fridge and sometimes I just blank on it. But one thing I don’t forget to do? Eat chocolate. Yeah, that’s easy. So Easter Bunny, please fill up my basket with a whole lot of attune’s new Chocolate Probiotic Bars. These don’t have to be refrigerated (yay science!) and are filled with 4 billion CFUs per bar. Plus, um, they’re delicious. You can’t go wrong with any flavor (hello, Dark Chocolate and Milk Chocolate Crisp), but Dark Chocolate Toasted Coconut is truly a stand-out. With just a hint of coconutty flavor, it’s a mix of rich dark chocolate plus the really satisfying almost chewy texture of coconut. Your belly will never be happier.
I can’t remember the last time I bought an actual candy bar, but I do love a good nutrition bar … especially if it provides solid nutrition without totally overloading me with sugar, and Luna’s latest revamp totally hits the mark. I’m partial to the Peanut Butter Dark Chocolate Chunk, because now that Luna has reduced the sugar content in their bars, we’re looking at just 5g sugar in a bar that provides 8g protein, 3g fiber and 19g carbs. It’s sweet enough to satisfy a dessert craving but I’m not afraid to grab one as a post-morning workout snack, either!
Remember these tasty little gems? Because I certainly do! These Royal Hawaiian Orchards Dark Chocolate Macadamia Nuts are still a favorite in my house, and considering the sweet health benefits of mac nuts, I don’t see any reason why I shouldn’t find a bag or two in my basket this Easter.
