Nursing in Style

My daughter isn’t quite a year, and we’re still going strong with breastfeeding. So I was totally game to test out a few new nursing items on the market. These three are must-haves for the nursing moms out there — especially if you’re tired of your worn out bras and nursing covers!

SHOLDIT Pocketed Nursing Scarf

My daughter is past the stage of tolerating a nursing cover, blanket or any form of cloth over her head while nursing. Enter this pocketed nursing scarf. My favorite part of this is when it’s being used for nursing, the baby still has free range of her body. She is not entirely trapped under a large piece of material, so she is less distracted. The scarf drapes nicely towards the side and the material opens up well for complete coverage as well. I found I was able to remain covered while cradling my daughter with the scarf towards the upper corner of her head. Win for us both! It’s cute, versatile, and you can flip it inside out to store it, and zip it up. No need to worry about it getting tangled or caught in anything. The pocket is helpful, especially at the park with a 3-year-old! I tucked my keys and ID/money in there while I entertained both kids. What Mama doesn’t love hidden treasures like this? This is one of those “Why didn’t I think of that?” products!

Cake Lingerie Lotus Bra

Life changing. I would love to leave that right here for you and move on because, seriously, that is how unbelievably impressive this Cake Lingerie Lotus bra ($50) is. Comfort? Check. Doesn’t look like a typical nursing workout bra? Check. Softest material ever? Check. Washes well? Check. Supports well? Check. See? Life changing! I have worn this for street-style clothes and for low to moderate workout days. Nursing access is easy. The second layer of the bra provides full coverage with a peekaboo slit, as I like to call it, to keep mama covered and poised while baby gets her golden liquid. Did I mention this bra is life changing?

You! Lingerie

Any nursing mama can give Justin Timberlake a whole new angle of thought for exactly what bringing sexy back means with this Flirty You! nursing bra from You! Lingerie ($42). The cups of this bra provide fullness that made my husband do a double take. The rounding shape will have you staring at your own reflection in the mirror, about ready to use a pickup line. It wears extremely well under shirts, too, giving a very feminine look. With a nice thick side band and extremely supportive clasps, there’s no reason to pass up this little sweet number. I love the little bows that cover the top clasp for nursing access. I really feel this little detail and the added lace takes the bra from mama to Oh Mama! It’s a far cry from your boring, basic nursing bra.

Do you have any nursing gear that you couldn’t do without? Good bras are SO important for breastfeeding success! —Jennifer
