Avocado 101: Types, Uses, Recipes and More

Dear Avocado,
How would I live without you? You help my heart, vision, and digestion. You are full of so many good things: vitamin K, A, C, B-6, plus riboflavin, magnesiumpotassium and omega-3 fatty acids (which my skin and hair thanks you for, by the way). I can easily spread you across a piece of toast in the morning or simply throw you on top of one of my favorite salads.
I thought I knew everything I need to know about you, but boy, was I wrong. I got a whiff of this amazing infographic from Fix.com and found out there is so much more to you than I ever imagined.

Avocado: Everything You Could Possibly Want to Know

Amazing what this little fruit is capable of, huh? FIX has even more information on avocados here.

After all this, I just ask one thing of you avocado: effing ripen when I want you to ripen, dammit.

That is all.
What’s your favorite way to incorporate avocados into your diet? This twist on the traditional egg salad sandwich is still my fave. —Erika

LOVE the infographic. I might have to steal it. My favorite is an avocado sandwich with alfalfa sprouts, finely minced garlic, and real salt on sprouted wheat bread – YUM!!
