A Healthy Addition to My Nutrition

This post is sponsored by CW Hemp™. Find more on our sponsored post policy here.

One of the things I love best about making a big ol’ salad for myself is seeing just how much good-for-me stuff I can fit in there. (The answer? A LOT.) A variety of greens? Done. Protein from eggs or fish? Awww, yeah. Healthy fats from things like avocado or nuts? Check. Plenty of colorful veggies and fruits? You know it — bell peppers, carrots, tomatoes and onions are my staples, but I’m a huge fan of adding chopped apples, strawberries, sugar snap peas, and lots of other goodies that happen to be in season. Sometimes, I even warm it all up!

And the goodness doesn’t stop there. Oh, heck no. I also love popping other nutritional powerhouses in there, like chia seeds or flax seeds, or, my latest go-to — a dropper full of the CW Hemp Charlotte’s Web Olive Oil Everyday Plus Infused Oil. I can either mix it in with my salad dressing before I drizzle my salad with it, or just drop it on top after my dressing is added. Either way, it doesn’t really impact the flavor of my salad, but it does make an impact on my health. In a good way, of course!

In case you’ve missed my previous posts about my experience with CW Hemp, here’s the lowdown on exactly what it’s all about. These hemp oil extract products (which are available as both flavored, infused oils — I take a dropper of the Mint Chocolate oil under my tongue just about every morning — or as a topical hemp gel-pen, which is so handy that I recently took it to Hawaii with me!) contain non-intoxicating cannabinoids.

And although CW Hemp itself doesn’t make any claims, cannabinoids are naturally occurring, patented antioxidants and neuroprotectants that have been shown to have some seriously great wellness benefits, like helping with anxiety, improving focus and even reducing exercise-induced inflammation. There are other benefits, too — believe it or not, I actually just had a conversation with my dog’s neurologist about starting her on a doggie hemp product. Like mother, like furry daughter!

I’ve been using these products regularly for the last few months, and I don’t have a single complaint. I feel awesome — I mean, I’m sure my meditation practice has helped me keep my cool and stay focused through the holidays, but I have no doubt that these products were helpful there, too! — and I can’t say enough about how simple it is to use either the oils or the topical gel-pen on the daily.

With all of that going for Charlotte’s Web, plus the fact that it’s so darn easy to incorporate, why wouldn’t I include it as part of my daily wellness routine?

As I’ve mentioned before, I do understand that some people hear “hemp” and maybe take a step back. Hey, there’s been a lot of misinformation about exactly what hemp is (and what it does) for years. But the real deal is this: the organically grown Colorado hemp — which is absolutely not the same as marijuana — that’s used for Charlotte’s Web products is safe (even for kids!) and totally legal to purchase and use in all 50 states. You don’t need a doctor’s note, a medical card, nothin’. It’s all good.

Got more questions about hemp in general or Charlotte’s Web products specifically? Let’s hear ’em! If I can’t answer them, I’ll try to find someone who can! —Kristen

This is an awesome idea to add in more healthy fats! I love the idea of mixing into a big bowl of greens as a way to supplement. Do you take it once a day… or try to add it to each meal?
