What’s Poppin’? This Awesome Popcorn Stuff

I freakin’ love popcorn. Like, LOVE IT.

Like, buy it by the bag and then also make my own. Or, convince my husband to make it for us with this ingenious method (it’s seriously fabulous).
So, when I get the chance to try new popcorn-related goodies? Well, I’m in. ALL IN.

And here are my thoughts on some of the recent stuff we were sent to try. It’s on and poppin’!

Annie’s Homegrown Popcorn

Annie’s Homegrown is known for its tasty organic eats, and its popcorn is no different. Naturally gluten-free and with no artificial flavors, synthetic colors or preservatives (the cheese is 100 percent real cheese — as it should be), it comes in Organic White Cheddar or Organic Butter & Sea Salt. Both have a lot of flavor, but do be aware: this is not a super light popcorn. With 75 or so calories a cup, it’s more calorie-dense than your usual air-popped popcorn but totally delicious.

Oogie’s Gourmet Popcorn

Oogie’s Gourmet Popcorn, a small gourmet popcorn company based in Denver, whips up high-flavor batches in all kinds of varities. Love cheese? Try their Smoked Gouda or Sun Dried Tomato and Parmesan. Love spice? Pick up a bag of Hatch Chili Con Queso. Craving something sweet? Try Kettle Corn or Caramel Chipotle. More traditional? Try Classic or Movie Lovers Buttered. All natural and trans-fat free and gluten-free, these are HEAVY on flavor and not for the popcorn-flavor meek.

Ips Pop

You might have heard of its chips, but Ips now has popcorn! And just like the chips, these have whey protein added, so for every handful you munch, you’re getting protein in, too. Offered in Classic Salted and White Cheddar flavors, they each have 6 or more grams of protein in every 1 oz. serving. They’re also gluten-free, non-GMO and have no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. Oh, and tasty? You betcha!

Just Spices Popcorn Seasoning

If you’re someone who prefers to do the popping yourself, you might want to try Just Spices BBQ Popcorn Seasoning or Spicy Popcorn Seasoning. All-natural, these custom mixed blends will add as much — or as little — flavor as you’d like sprinkled on your bowl. A little spicy and a touch sweet, these are darn tasty!

What’s your popcorn style? I’m a bit of a classic — or kettlecorn — kind of girl. But I’ll pretty much eat any kind of popcorn you pop my way. —Jenn
