5 Subtle Ways the Universe Speaks to You

Sometimes you get divine inspiration in meditation. Sometimes a really good run or yoga class will give you insight. Other times, it’ll come to you in a dream … or hit you in the middle of your day like a ton of bricks.

And then there are the whispers — the more subtle signs that the universe is kindly trying to get your attention.

Are you listening to these?

1. That feeling in your gut.

You know the one. The one that makes you think, something’s not right about this. Or, man, I really need to do that. Don’t push it away. Lean into it and see what it really has to say.

2. Repetition.

This can present itself in a number of ways — seeing the same numbers over and over, hearing the same song everywhere you, having a word or phrase pop up repeatedly. Usually there’s a message there or an acknowledgement. Be curious about what that’s all about.

3. When everything is going right … or everything is going wrong.

When things are easy, it’s usually a sign that you’re on the right path. If everything is feeling difficult and hard, then it’s usually a sign that either you need to reframe your perspective to see it in another way or you need to change something.

4. The coincidences keep coming.

Because coincidence? We think not.

5. When creativity and new ideas suddenly flow.

You can learn so much from your creativity. If you are having a ton of ideas come through, act on them and get them out into the world in one way or another. See what the message is in them.

In what subtle ways does the universe speak to you? And how often do you listen? I’ve found that when I ignore these subtle signs, the universe finds larger and more intense ways to get my attention — and usually they’re not super duper fun or pleasant. So, I’m trying to listen more and control less. —Jenn
