2018 Fitties: The Best Fitness- and Health-Related Products We’ve Tried

2018 Fitties: Apparel & Kicks

Best running shorts: Brooks Chaser ShortThese running shorts — which come in a 3″5″ and 7″ length — are the shorts we can’t stop wearing. They move insanely well with you and feel so light and airy on. They’re also really flattering — and they have what we all need: two pockets built into the wide slimming waistband (one is even sweat resistance).

Best fit fashion trend: pockets on leggings. Seriously, how did we live before this? (And although you can’t order our leggings anymore, there are still plenty of cute others for sale on Four Athletics now!)

Best all-purpose workout tank: Free Country Women’s B Tied Up TankWith the ability to keep the back open or tied up, this tank is totes on trend and comes in really pretty colors with a slightly sheer but not too sheer fabric. Super comfy and goes with darn near everything!

Best sports bra for larger cup sizes: Brooks Jubralee. There are a lot of sports bras for larger cups that we love these days, but of them, this is still our absolute fave. (And it’s not just because we’re a Brooks ambassador!)

Best athleisure piece: Athleta Pranayama Wrap. It’s soft. It’s comfy. You can wear it over everything. So, yeah, it’s perfection basically.

Best high-end apparel brand we’ve got our eye on: American Fitness Couture. We mean, PRETTY, right? Can’t wait to try some of their stuff soon (review coming up!).

Best new running shoe: Levitate. These came on the scene with a bang … or more like a bounce. Because holy responsive springiness!

Best athleisure boots: Merrell Chateau Tall Pull Waterproof Boots. With wet-weather protection and traction, these are a great fall-winter-spring pair of boots that have the look that you can wear anywhere (great with leggings or jeans or a skirt) with the functionality of comfort, support and warmth. And, yep, there’s expandable width in the calf area. (Our prayers have been answered!)

Best cold-weather boots: Cougar Gabby Suede Shearling Boots. Keeping your feet cozy when it’s wet and cold is key to happiness, and these pair easily with basically everything. We wore them for winter evenings out with friends, we threw them on going and to and from yoga, we folded the tops down when it warmed up, zipped them up when we felt chilly. They offer great traction and fantastic support. It almost makes us long for winter. (Almost.)
