Can you believe that — this week — Fit Bottomed Girls is celebrating its 10th anniversary?
Yes, that’s a decade.
And over that decade, A LOT of things have happened. And changed. And grown. And evolved.
In that time, we’ve started three verticals in addition to Fit Bottomed Girls — Fit Bottomed Mamas (which got a new tagline and logo last year), Fit Bottomed Eats and Fit Bottomed Zen — plus we started our podcast, hosted a retreat, wrote a book, designed a pair of leggings, and launched our ongoing weight-loss with self love program, the 10 in 4 Challenge.
Yeah, you can say we’ve been busy. And are kinda like 100 in internet years. (They operate much like dog years.)
But the single thing that we’re most proud of in all of these years?
The fact that we have been one of the many voices helping to change the world to be less focused on diet and image and more focused on true wellness, confidence and feeling good. When we started in 2008, body image and body positivity were not talked about much at all — and definitely not in mainstream magazines or websites. Although there is still much work to do, now positive body image is very much a mainstream thing. We’re honored to have been a pioneer in that change.
And — more importantly — we could NOT have done that without you guys, our tribe of fellow FBGs. See, being a Fit Bottomed Girl isn’t about being a certain size or doing a particular workout or eating a specific way. It’s about loving yourself, inside and out and taking care of yourself. It’s about showing yourself love and standing up for yourself — it’s about believing in yourself, just as you are.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for being on this journey with us all these years — and continuing to do so as the next decade of Fit Bottomed Girls unfolds. (Psst … can you keep a secret? We’ll soon unveil a redesigned site that will take all of the things we do in the Fit Bottomed World at large and put them in one central location — it’s gonna be amazing.)
This community is not just making a difference for ourselves and each other — it’s making a difference in the world at large.
So let’s keep at it! After all, you can’t hate yourself healthy.
(And be sure to check out all of our special birthday content, giveaways and more all week long here. It’s gonna be a PAR-TAY!)
