A League of Their Own, IRL

About her: An auto accident in 1952 sent Dolly into early retirement. Before that, she spent the 1949 season barn storming the country with the Springfield Sallies and then was picked up by the Grand Rapids chicks. A gifted athlete, she became a professional bowler after leaving the league. She coached her sons’ Little League teams and also umpired high school baseball and softball games.

Best advice: My advice to young girls and women: Follow your dreams, don’t give up, and with hard work, you will succeed!
