About her: Sue Parsons Zipay played right field, second base, and pitcher for the last two years of the AAGPBL with the Rockford Peaches. She started playing tennis at age 35 and achieved New England and national rankings in the 40-plus division, and later became the first United States Racquet Stringers Association stringer in Massachusetts. In 1989, Sue purchased the Englewood Tennis Club in Englewood, Fl., with her son, Bob. She is also the founder and serves on the board of directors of the Women’s Sports Museum that will be built in Sarasota, Fl..

Best advice: Always be a good sport, win or lose. Be humble and don’t gloat if you win. Say kind words to your opponent, don’t cheat, and don’t get upset if you lose — but consider your loss the path to learning how to win.
