Sleep Better Tonight With This Tasty Tonic

You know you should stay hydrated for good health, and a book that recently landed on my desk for review makes it clear that you don’t have to sacrifice flavor when it comes to sipping on something super healthy.

Anti-Inflammatory Drinks for Health by Maryea Flaherty, the founder of HappyHealthyMama.com, is packed with recipes for more than 100 smoothies, shots, broths, teas, tonics, fizzes, and more — all of which are are packed with nutrients scientifically proven to reduce inflammation (which, you might recall, is something I’m rather interested in myself). There’s a Rosemary Coconut Cooler that I’m itching to try, a Hangover Cure Shot that may be relevant to some of your interests (no judgment here!), and, today’s offering, a Sleeping Beauty Tonic featuring tart cherries as the main ingredient.

This tonic is designed to both reduce inflammation, thanks to the anthocyanins found in tart cherries, and that’s not all! Tart cherries are also known to be a fantastic sleep aid due to the fact that they’re a natural source of melatonin, so it can help you fall asleep faster and sleep longer.

Sleeping Beauty Tonic


  • 1 cup tart cherry juice
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon raw honey


  1. Combine cherry juice and apple cider in a glass.
  2. Add the raw honey and stir until dissolved.
  3. Consume immediately.
