Workout Tips Book Lovers Will Love

There’s little I love more than getting lost in a great story. Give me a good book and a quiet spot and it’s entirely possible you won’t hear from me for hours.

Of course, I also really like being active, which doesn’t always mesh well with my reading habit. I’m not gonna lie — I have absolutely skipped workouts because I couldn’t bear to tear myself away from a book.

So, when I got an email from Audible about how the audio entertainment platform can help people stick to their fitness goals, I was keen to learn more. I’ve been a fan of Audible, but mostly used it on long drives — I definitely hadn’t thought of how it could help me with my workouts. However, there are a few ways it really can make a difference.

How Audio Books Can Help Your Workouts

Exercise longer. For someone like me who truly gets invested in a story, listening to a book can easily lead to a longer workout, especially if you make a point to only listen to that book while you’re being active. Now, for me, that works best on long walks or slower runs and easy indoor bike rides, because if I’m doing a workout that requires much thought or my heart rate is really spiking, it becomes difficult for me to concentrate on a plot. However, I’ve definitely ended up running another mile or so because I just have to know what happens next!

Get motivated. You know how some movies and books leave you positively craving a workout? Maybe it’s an inspirational biography or memoir, or a self-help/self development book that gave you a real Aha! moment. Whatever it is that lights you up, it’s pretty neat that you can listen to it while you’re getting active — or even just on the way to the gym to help you get pumped up.

Find workouts. A few months ago I wrote about how I’d been using the Aaptiv app — and, let me tell you, I’m still going strong with my regular Aaptiv workouts. I honestly love, love, love it! And I’ve now learned that, if you have an Audible membership, you have access to a variety of Audible-exclusive Aaptiv workout programs, like Intro to Indoor Cycling, Quick Workouts for Busy People, Everyday Meditation and more.

Now, here’s the question I’m dying to ask: How many of you still think “books on tape” in your head? It’s not just me, is it? –Kristen

I just read Macbeth which is really a beautiful piece for me and is incredibly tragic, dramatic and profound. Such works need to be thoroughly studied and analysed. I know this already from my personal experience and I urge that you watch and read this wonderful narrative macbeth , or rather, reviews on various aspects of it. I hope it’s helpful and here you may learn more. It taught me a great deal.
