13 Things Only Moms Pregnant With Twins Will Understand
My twin pregnancy has been REAL.
Real tough. Real fun. Real long (even though it’s actually really shorter than my last one). And, really, really something.
Because I’m so, so grateful to be carrying two babies (as I’m writing this, I’m currently past week 30). And it’s special. But, man, a twin pregnancy is not for the faint of heart. Here are 13 things only moms pregnant with twins will understand …
No shirt will ever be long enough to cover the bump, it seems.
No built-in belly band has enough stretch in it.
The silliness of a “due date.”
Getting asked if twins “run in your family?”
There’s carrying a single baby up high or low … and then there’s side baby.
People’s eyes popping out when you tell them how far along you are.
Seriously eating for three.
Having an INSTANT connection with other moms of multiples.
When you’re 28 weeks, but measuring 36 weeks.
The mantra: “One day equals two fewer days in the NICU!”
Educating strangers on the difference between fraternal and identical twins over and over again.
Watching eBay like a hawk for a double BOB stroller.
Wondering how the HECK moms of triplets or more do it?!
What else, twin mamas? And, kudos to you for being a badass mama! –Jenn
