Sick of your usual smoothie? Why not try a smoothie bowl?

They’re fun, filling, and feel way more like a meal (or even a dessert) because you eat them with a spoon. In a bowl!

I know, that’s pretty Captain Obvious, but, the smoothie bowl has been a fun new addition to my healthy meal and snack rotation — especially when I need a little something post-workout.

With a simple base of milk or milk alternative (I went with plain almond milk) plus a frozen banana and two scoops of PB2 Performance Peanut Protein With Dutch Cocoa Plant Powder, it’s a bowl that packs a punch. The PB2 Protein gives the bowl a whopping 20 grams of complete plant-based protein, with prebiotic fiber, zero added sugar, and a clean ingredient list.

This recipe is quick and easy to make, which is a necessity for me. But, if you have a little more time, it’s really easy to get creative with it. Eating a bowl without any garnishes is delicious, but you can also top it off with some banana slices, coconut flakes, chocolate chips, chia seeds, or whatever you’ve got in your fridge.

I’ve been a fan of PB2 Foods powders for years because they are so tasty and convenient, but I am REALLY digging this new powder because it has so much protein in it and it tastes SO good. That peanut butter and chocolate flavor combo is classic, and this powder nails it with a rich taste that satisfies — because it’s real roasted peanuts and cocoa!

So, take that delicious powder, throw in a frozen banana and some milk, and blend to a thick and creamy consistency of a bowl that’ll make for a perfect breakfast, snack, post-workout fuel, or — heck — even dessert.

And, if you have kids, believe me, they’ll love this, too. The name alone hooked my four-year-old daughter: Every time she hears the blender now, she dances like a “Funky Monkey!”

Another thing I love about this smoothie bowl, and specifically the PB2 Performance Peanut Protein With Dutch Cocoa Plant Powder? How few ingredients it requires! In the past, I’d have to bust out peanut butter and cocoa powder and protein powder, but with PB2 Performance Peanut Protein With Dutch Cocoa Plant Powder, it’s all right there. –Jenn
