Biggest Loser 13 Episode 16: The Walk-Off (and a Tough Mudder Challenge)

Wow. Last night’s The Biggest Loser episode did not disappoint. We’d heard the rumors about “the walk-off,” and it was, indeed, cah-razy.
The episode started off straight into the drama. Apparently the contestants had gotten wind that producers were planning to allow a past contestant to possibly re-enter the race. As anyone who watches the show knows, that always happens. However, it usually doesn’t happen just before the finale—I’ll give them that. The five left—Jeremy, Conda, Kim, Mark and Buddy—were outraged at the “unfairness” and ended up each sitting down with a legal mediator to discuss the, ahem, contract they signed, which pretty much said that they agreed to all of the shenanigans. After all was said and done, Mark and Buddy decided to leave, while the other three stayed.
Oh, and Bob and Dolvett’s reaction to the walk-off was pretty cool. They had a bit of a bonding moment, and were seriously befuddled, and then later seem rightfully pissed that two contestants quit. Best line of the night? Buddy: I’m not a quitter, even though I quit the show. Hmmm…the irony of a “No Excuses” season continues to amaze me. The excuse this week should really have been “It’s not fair.”
After that crazy, the weigh-in was jaw-dropping, too. During Makeover Week, no one really lost a ton of weight, so I guess it’s not a huge surprise that the three contestants dropped big numbers. But Kim dropped an incredible 15 pounds—a whopping 9 percent of her body weight. Methinks she must have dehydrated herself big time to drop that much weight, but it secured her spot in the finale. Falling below the red line was Jeremy, which Conda was none too pleased about. She burst out into tears saying it—wait for it—wasn’t fair. Geez.
Oh, and because the episode was short and there was so much unscripted drama, they kind of skimmed over this week’s challenge that looked AWESOME. Conda, Jeremy and Kim did a condensed Tough Mudder race with BL alums Jon, Olivia and Patrick. Check out the video below to see how it went—so cool!

My only thought about the show last night and all the drama was that they were being a bunch of whine babies. They should have put themselves in the eliminated players spot. Would they not want one last chance if they had already been voted off? Suck it and keep up the good fight…finish what you started!
Sadly, this entire season has been one big excuse after another and having to suffer through the crocodile tears of Condo show after show is nauseating. Kim’s weight loss further solidifies the unrealistic conception that you can drop tons of weight overnight. I am truly disappointed in BL 🙁
I have been mostly disappointed with this season & last night was no exception. The season of ‘No Excuses’ has been nothing but excuses. I was especially offended simply because I’d give my left arm for a chance to be on The Biggest Loser. But as the sole breadwinner in our household I simply cannot be away for weeks or months. But these children throw it away as if it’s nothing. Of course Conda’s comment that Kim didn’t deserve to be in the finals was just…so Conda…
I truly believe if the cast next season is this disappointing, I just don’t see myself tuning in. As much as I love Bob & I’m warming up to Dolvett, they are not the main reason I watch.
I couldn’t tune in until after the mutiny had already occurred — did the show offer one of those “where are they now?” segments on Mark and Buddy after they left? There wasn’t anything at the end of the episode, and Mark and Buddy were two of my favorite contestants this season. I’d be bummed if we didn’t get to see how things have wound up with both of them, in the same way that we’ve been able to revisit every other contestant.
Alison… No, there were no “where are they now” segments for Mark & Buddy. In fact you have seen the last of them as the walked off the show in spite of having signed a contract. They won’t even have a chance that the at home prize because they were little babies and walked off.
Can’t stand Conda but at least she honored her contract.
Wait what? How did I miss the mudder? Was it not shown or is this going to be on the next episode.
When they were all sitting around saying we are leaving, all I kept yelling at the TV was there’s the doors you ungrateful asshats don’t let it hit you on your whiney rears on the way out. Wow! I couldn’t believe the level of “it’s not fair” Even Kim saying that the other people didn’t “earn it” Really? How about the person you sent home week one because of personality, or you didn’t bond with them etc. If they lost enough weight to come back, I say they earned, much like Daphne and her brother who were treated terribly when they came back. I wasn’t surprised at all about this childish behavior. Ramone came back very close the end, so I don’t think it was anything different that had ever happened before. These people are ridiculous and I want this season to just end.
Oh and did anyone catch the pissed off look on Kim’s face when Conda declared that Jeremy deserved to be there more than Kim. WHAT??? Then give up your spot Conda. Jerk.
This is the first year…okay, that might not be true, but the one that stands out to me most as not wanting anyone to win. I hope the ones who quit are not allowed to participate in the finale. That doesn’t seem “fair.”
I’m actually watching the episode right now. What a bunch of whiny little bitches. As both Bob and Dolvett said, they do this EVERY SINGLE SEASON. The contestants had to know it was a possibility.
What a bunch of self centered little jerks. Get over yourselves. It’s, at the center, a game show. They always throw in curveballs. The idea that it’s not “fair” or it’s somehow immoral to throw in that curveball is just plain stupid.
Is it wrong to kind of hope that the two who went home gain back all of their weight? I’m not sure they deserve the benefits the show gave them.
For any of them to say that someone else didn’t work as hard as they did or doesn’t deserve it as much as they did is just assholic. How do you know what someone else has been through?
I have to admit I stopped watching the show because of this season’s contestants. For a few seasons, the show was a motivator for me personally. I like Bob and Dolvett (and Jillian), but the contestants come across annoying and whiny for this “do-over” opportunity.
