These weight-lifting gloves do make you feel a little more bad-ass…

We are all about women lifting heavy weights. In fact, we wrote a whole post about how awesome and empowering it is—and how it’s one of the best ways to change your body for the healthier (and stronger—growl!). But while lifting heavy weights can make you feel like a fit and confident She-Ra, it can sometimes kind of hurt your hands. Okay, maybe even really hurt your hands. Or, at the least, give you some burning and calluses. Which, you know, does kind of stink. You don’t want to not be able to lift a weight just because your hands hurt, ya know? Which is where today’s Fit Four gloves review comes in.

Some weight-lifting gloves are a bit cumbersome—bulky, bunchy and don’t allow for your best natural grip. But these are designed to be pretty much the opposite of that. They’re fingerless so that you can still feel the bar, but they still protect that top part of the hand that’s prone to tears. Kind of like an extra layer of skin, these are just slightly padded with vents for breathability.

But how do they perform? While I’ll probably never do pull-ups with any type of glove, I do like these for heavy kettlebells, dumbbells and barbell work like deadlifts, squats and other Olympic lifts. The gloves come in four different sizes, and mine fit perfectly and stayed in place while lifting. My hands didn’t get overly hot in them, and the padding was just enough but not too much. And my fingers felt free. Free! (Clearly, I’m still a sucker for any -less product.) Plus, you feel kind of cool with them on…kind of like a fit biker. In a good way.

While I won’t use them for every weight-lifting session I do, I’ll definitely bust them out for the super hard ones. So, if you’ve been wanting a little more protection for your hands but don’t dig the whole weight-lifting glove thing, this might be a good minimalist approach to look into to. At $25.95, it’s a good investment.

Thanks for posting this – I was just saying this week that I needed something to keep those callouses off my hand – they drive me nuts. These would be great for 21’s with 20lb dumbbells – those hurt my hands the worst!

  5. Kang says:

I think the gloves are definitely needed. Im a guy, and my wife hates it when I touch with my callous hands. Im sending her to your site to learn some cool stuff. Keep up the good work.

  6. Jennifer says:

This is a great concept and without the wrist band, I would be able to do front squats easier… maybe. 🙂

Saw these at the gym and they peaked my interests! I have to wear wrists wraps, so traditional gloves are not comfortable with wraps. I love back squats being that my max is 220!!

As a Barbell Strength Instructor, I just love to lift. And I love getting women in from the typical group fitness class and inspire them to lift….and lift heavy. I love the clean n press, and a good pair of gloves would be amazing to help grip the pair, and save my hands from the wear and tear.

  34. Don’t buy with this company, i order my gloves to mexico and after a month i haven’t receive anything, even i write e-mail, try to call them and nothing, it’s a fraud

  35. SHELLEY Hunt says:

Don’t know if this promotion is still going. I totally love weights. Lifting makes me feel badass!!

I love squats, deadlifts and barbell routines that raise my pectoral muscles, biceps and triceps. I started doing the research, and started going to the gym. If I need help, I just ask one of the guys. At first, I was ashamed of the stares. But, I’m athletically built anyway. So, I changed my mind concept. If they’re looking, they must like what they see. So let them look! ??
