3 New Fresh and Light Running Shoes for Summer

light-running-shoes

Looking for some new running kicks this summer? Some that are fresh, fun and (almost) lighter than air? Well, we have three new picks that are sure to get your heart racing! Lace up!

3 New Light Running Shoes

1. Puma Mobium Runner Elite. Like a customized fit? The Puma Mobium Runner Elite ($110) is for you. Light yet supportive, it actually expands and contracts with your foot — giving you support and cushion when and where you need it. In fact, these “Expansion Pods” are in the size, shape and location of where cushioning, protection and flexibility are most needed for the human foot. These also have an elasticized band that runs in a figure eight around the sole, which Puma says performs just like your foot’s tendons for extra spring in your step. Whether you are out for a quick jog or training for a marathon, these have great get-up-a-go and lots of arch support. Plus, we love the red.

2. Mizuno Wave Evo Cursoris. They look a little sci-fi to us, but we are digging the ultra-light and ultra-low to the ground Mizuno Wave Evo Cursoris ($120). These zero-drop shoes (Shorty got low, low, low, low, low!) encourage mid-foot running while still giving you some underfoot cushioning for protection and support. Weighing just 6.2 ounces, we also dig that these are named after the Greek word for “runner.”

3. Under Armour Toxic Six. We’ve nicknamed these the “Rainbow Jungle” because the Under Armour Toxic Six ($100) look like they just stepped out of a Color Run in the jungle. Which we adore. But there’s more to our love than just the look of these. With a molded upper that fits like a glove and a sole that mimics your foot’s imprint, these are super light and super flexible so that your feet can move as nature intended. The off-set laces reduce pressure and pain on the top of your foot — and there’s no tongue to get all moved around (we kind of hate that in regular shoes!). At 5.5 ounces, you will fly in these. Party in the jungle!

Do you love how light running shoes are getting these days? What pair do you think you’d like best? —Jenn
