Fit Blogger We Love: Kristin Stehly of STUFT Mama

stuft-mama-text

I’ve pretty much been a fan and friend of Kristin Stehly since we realized we were both smitten with Bob Harper when we met on the set for one of his workouts. Seeing that working out with Bob was pretty much the best day of my life, Kristin and I really shared something special. And as she got to work out with Bob REGULARLY, we’ve kept in touch and swapped links on all things Bob and fitness. And while our online relationship started with just Bob, I’ve come to be a huge fan of her blog, too. The recipes … her incredible race times … her cute family. What’s not to love?!

And, thus, I present to you our Fit Blogger We Love for this month: Kristin Stehly of STUFT Mama!

Q&A With Kristin Stehly of STUFT Mama

When and why did you start your blog? I started it for personal training clients about 5 months after I had my twins. I didn’t go back to my full-time teaching job and wanted a way to share my exercises and recipes with clients. I had no idea there was a huge social media/blogging world out there. I thought it was an original idea. Pretty funny.

How did you come up with the name of your blog? STUFT Fitness is the name of my fitness business. It stands for “Stehly Ultimate Family Training.” I just decided to stick with the STUFT name, but it really worked out well. STUFT Mama was just meant to be I guess.

What’s the most rewarding thing about blogging? The friends, connections and incredible opportunities that have happened because of blogging. I’ve gotten to experience so many things I’ve only dreamed of, and it’s all because of a silly little blog. I’m grateful every single day to be able to blog on my time and work it in with being a mama.

What’s the most misunderstood thing about your blog or healthy blogging in general? Oh gosh, well, I think we all try to put our best foot forward. So many things can be misinterpreted over the internet. I try to keep it as real as possible, and when I have something I’m struggling with I usually have to share it with my readers. People are going to try to knock you down no matter what, but if you know in your heart that you’re doing what you love and you stand behind your beliefs, then that’s all that matters.

What’s your favorite post and why? Hmmm … Recently it’s been this one. But, the one that really started the whole blog and tells a little about my back story is this.

What workouts do you love? I love running, but I also love any kind of HIIT workouts that incorporate high intensity moves with some strength and resistance training. It’s all about getting as much as you can from a workout in shorter amounts of time. You know, life as a busy mom. I have a bunch of fun ones on my YouTube channel here.

What workouts do you love to hate? I teach Spinning. It’s never easy, but man is it a great workout. And burpees. I love them and hate them.

What single piece of workout apparel could you not live without? My Mizuno running shoes. LOVE THEM!!!

What’s the most embarrassing song on your workout playlist right now? I love Kenny Loggins. I have quite a few of his songs. I also have a shirt. Hehe.

What are a few of your fitness confessions? I like to sleep in my sports bra as a little extra motivation to get on the treadmill first thing in the morning. I’ve also been known to run on the treadmill in Spanx. And my treadmill TV show of choice at the moment is Gossip Girl. Oh, AND I’ve been known to wear a toddler pull-up to the start of a marathon (or two) just in case of emergencies. You never know.

Gotta love her, right?! We asked Kristin a bunch of mama related questions, too, so be sure to check that out over on FBM! Who shall we profile next, ya’ll?! —Jenn
